We’ll chat about their background, what their reaction was to winning this once in a lifetime journey, and more. You all are gonna LOVE our next astronaut...

Set a reminder to join us live this Thursday at 4pm Pacific / 7pm Eastern to meet our second astronaut on YouTube | X!

Get hyped. Maybe watch that Coby Cotton launch video again for a glimpse of what they'll be experiencing.

Vote Now + Results

MDP-140: Citizen and Entity Go To Market is now live for voting. This proposal involves the roll-out of a new streamlined process for individuals and organizations to join MoonDAO in just one click. A demo of the app onboarding flow was showcased during MoonDAO Q1 2024 Final Reports.

Now, this project will continue building on what was done in Q1 and onboard the first 10 entities (companies or other organizations) and the first 100 MoonDAO citizens for this foundational round.

Read the full proposal and vote now.

Thanks to all of you who voted on the previous two proposals. The recent constitutional amendment was successfully passed which will allow rollover of the top five contributors in our retroactive rewards process into the Senate for the next quarter to ensure governance continuity on a meritocratic basis.

Speaking of retroactive rewards, calculations have been finalized thanks to the community vote. You can review the results of the payments to each project and team member for the sake of transparency.

Vote Now on MDP-140.

Bite-Sized Space News

20th Flight

SpaceX achieved another groundbreaking milestone with the successful launch of the B1062 booster marking the 20th launch and landing of a first stage—a new record. Departing from Florida's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on April 12, the launch coincided with the 43rd anniversary of NASA's inaugural space shuttle flight in 1981. The first stage returned to Earth for its 20th landing on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas.

Late last year, booster B1058 (with the NASA worm logo) was a reusable first-stage booster that broke a turnaround record and flew 19 times before tipping over in rough seas and high winds on its return to Port Canaveral in December 2023. B1058 was the first Falcon 9 booster to fly fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, and nineteen times. The booster had launched Crew Dragon Demo-2 (with Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley) to the ISS in 2020 and carried 23 Starlink satellites on its final flight on December 23, 2023.

Delta Heavy

In a historic farewell, United Launch Alliance bid adieu to the Delta 4 Heavy rocket with the launch of a classified National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) spy satellite on April 9 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The rocket, known for its three common core boosters, marked the end of an era after 16 missions since its debut in 2004. ULA, transitioning to its Vulcan Centaur rocket, described the moment as bittersweet, signaling the end of a legacy dating back to the space age's early days. The future of the launch pad remains uncertain, pending an environmental review by the U.S. Space Force.
